Our one-year Full-Time course with a two-year Part-Time option is positioned in the rich geographical area of the South West of England with plenty of opportunities for experiential learning, responding and working alongside outside environments in Plymouth, the UK’s only ocean city and nearby moors of Dartmoor and Cornwall.
Discover the empowerment of innovative art-research practice. Open up your sensorium, sharpen your sensitivities and attune yourself to the more-than-human world by evolving inventive, creative responses to global challenges. From climate change to social and environmental injustices and AI, explore how they affect our sense of self, ability to act and connections with others.
Our programme has dedicated, caring lecturers who will guide and inspire you through your journey. We offer access to a wide range of digital and analogue media, audiovisual and photographic equipment, plus generous practical and technical support. Work to expand the field of photography by embracing openness, originality and risk-taking through practical and conceptual experimentation in still and moving image-making, sound design, curation, creative and critical writing while learning rigorous, innovative approaches to both practice and theory.
Join our dynamic research culture and be supported by a collective of international academics, researchers, artists, curators and writers. Share your practice with like-minded peers and be transformed by an educational experience that prepares you for future challenges in a dynamic, fluid and complex world.
If you or someone you know is interested in trans-disciplinary research and eco-critical approaches to an expanded notion of photography, please do apply or share!
